A solicited redesign of key features to the Seller Portal at stadiumgoods.com, the world's premier sneaker and streetwear marketplace.
The Consignment Manager at Stadium Goods approached me to get my feedback and redesign select key features to the 'Seller Portal'. He was aware of my background in design as well as being a frequent user of the site
The Seller Portal is the interface between consignment sellers and Stadium Goods
● Designed an entire new concept for interaction between sellers and the site
● Reimagined interactions with sneaker inventory, recent sales, and price management
● Built a working prototype in Principle and a pitch deck to present to management
● The Sellers Portal is very clumsy
● Hard to use and interact with
● Does not immediately give the user needed information about their account and current sales
● The grey flag that indicates pairs under review is confusing, what does it indicate?
● If the seller has more than one size of a shoe the initial 'MY INVENTORY' page does not indicate that
● The inventory page does not tell the seller any price information at all
● The seller has no idea if they have the lowest price on a shoe, ie: if their pair will be first to sell on the site
● As a shoe seller you immediately want to know your exact inventory that is listed on the site
● Professional sellers usually have multiple pairs in different sizes of the same shoe
● A clear easy to understand interface is currently absent from the site’s interactions
● Not knowing what inventory has recently sold
● How much shoes sold for and what Stadium Goods fee is
● Currently there is no clear interface that discloses this information in the 'Sellers Portal'
My new concept involved changing the way the user views its inventory. Instead of a 'cart' for selling shoes the user would have a 'rack' for displaying what shoes they have for sale. This is a very on brand way to display your shoes, especially as a collector
● More detailed information with a quick glance
● Allows the user to view from the home screen what price the shoe is currently listed at and if it is the lowest & will sell first
● The price appears in green if it is the lowest & next pair to sell
● If the price is red it is not the lowest, with the current lowest price listed below
● With a click of the card the option to change the price becomes available
● Updating your price knowing what the current lowest price for that particular size is essential and is not currently part of the site build
● User knows exactly what shoes have sold recently
● What payments are ready to be cashed out
● Method for payment, ie: picking up a check or direct deposit
● Added a button to set up direct deposit as it is nearly impossible to find and execute on the current site
● Initial research
● Create survey
● Live interviews
● Define pain points
● Create personas
● Design pitch deck
● Present to client
● As of now I have a pending meeting with the Design Director of the site. They have several developers but no one on staff doing any sort of UX or higher level feature planning
● I have submitted a pitch deck and will be meeting with the director as soon as we can schedule a convenient time
● The Consignment Manager was very impressed with my ideas and has been trying to get me in to see the director now that I have been able to show some of my ideas with a working prototype
