Problem

In pre-pandemic times the electronic music scene had reached an inflection point:

  • All across America, even in our beloved New York, the 'Scene' we all have been apart of for decades has morphed into something that few of us actually recognize
  • What was once a small scene for a select group of weirdos has suddenly become mainstream
  • ‍As much as we would like, events will never go back in time to the way we remembered them when everything was fresh and exciting
Commercialized raving at its worst

Solution

Immersive Experience:

By combining custom synced visuals with the music the DJ plays, lighting, and a storyline we create a truly IMMERSIVE experience. The guests will be transported to a new world without ever leaving New York.

  • A combination of lighting elements throughout the room creates the immersive element
  • ‍Main element would be movable 3D Mapping behind the DJ booth
  • ‍Custom visuals that are directly synced with the music
  • ‍Synced light show showcasing the architectural elements of the room

Interactive Experience:

By combining video projectors, Kinect cameras, and a lot of processing.org code guests can interact with visual displays creating unique individual experiences that are never the same twice.

  • Microsoft Kinect video cameras can use movement and depth perception to control custom visuals projected on walls and the floor
  • ‍Pressure sensitive floors can send information to also control custom visuals displayed via LED floor panels
  • ‍Video can be recorded, manipulated and projected in real-time right before the guests eyes

Results

The Pitch Deck is complete and we have already taken meetings with talent & designers

Due to the current pandemic this project is currently on hold until it is safe to start planning events again. However, we have had initial pitch meetings with two prospective DJ's that are some of the biggest touring acts in all of dance music. We have also pitched the concept to several visual and lighting designers receiving strong interest. We are confident that once the events market returns to a safe equilibrium we will be able to turn this concept into reality.
